What Duet Collects
Depending on how you use Duet, we may collect:
- Account and contact information, such as your email address and display name.
- Journal content, such as text entries, voice recordings, transcripts, moods, tags, saved kind words, and journal history.
- Audio playback and app activity, such as which Duet sessions you play or save, so the app can provide Library and Journal features.
- Beta and support information, such as waitlist email signups, TestFlight invite requests, and messages you send to support.
- Technical information, such as device, app version, logs, and basic diagnostics used to keep Duet working.
Your Content Stays Yours
Your Journal entries, recordings, transcripts, and saved kind words are private by design. We do not read them as part of ordinary operations, and we do not sell them, share them for advertising, or use them to train AI models.
Duet may process your content only to provide features you choose to use, such as saving your Journal, creating a transcript, generating playback, powering search, or responding to a support request you send us. Access is limited to what is needed to operate, secure, debug, or support Duet.
How We Use It
We use only the minimal information required to operate Duet, including to save your journal, play Library sessions, transcribe audio when requested, sync your account, send beta invites, respond to support requests, improve reliability, and protect the service.
Duet is not a social network or an advertising product. We do not sell your personal information.
Voice, Transcription, and AI
If you record audio or ask Duet to transcribe, summarize, speak, or otherwise process your words, the relevant audio, transcript, or text may be sent to trusted service providers that help us provide those features.
We send only the information needed for the requested feature and do not include your Duet account identity unless it is required to operate or secure the service.
We use these providers only to operate Duet features, not to make your Journal public, sell your content, advertise against it, or train our own models.
Service Providers
We use trusted providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, email delivery, transcription, text-to-speech, AI processing, app distribution, and diagnostics. Examples may include Supabase, Resend, Apple TestFlight, and AI or audio processing providers.
Your Choices
- You can choose what to record or type in Duet.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your account data.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing or beta emails when an unsubscribe link is provided.
Retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide Duet, support your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and improve safety and reliability. If you ask us to delete your account data, we will delete or de-identify it unless we need to retain limited information for legitimate legal or operational reasons.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid saving information in Duet that you would not want processed by an online service.
Children
Duet is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as Duet changes. When we do, we will update the date above. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to let users know.
